Music Generation Wicklow
Music Generation Wicklow appointed a new manager in late August 2013. Ann Catherine Nolan comes from a background of education and arts administration. Formally a secondary school teacher, Ann has experience within the primary school area and also in establishing a privately run art school for over ten years. Ann was the Assistant Arts Officer for County Wicklow for a number of years. She has also worked with other local authorities in the south east of the country delivering programmes and festivals in Literature, Dance and visual arts. Along with co-ordinating County Wicklow’s Culture Night Programme and the Get Vocal County Choir for Older People for the past five years Ann has vast experience in project management, event management and engaging the wider community in all art forms.
In October 2013, Music Generation Wicklow appointed Evan Kenny as coordinator to strategically prioritize the west of the county. Based in Blessington three days a week, he supports the delivery of our music education strand programs in primary and secondary schools in the region. He is also devising and coordinating new initiatives that are creating music opportunities for children and young people in Wicklow. Evan is a qualified youth worker and youth arts practitioner, specializing in music. He received an honors BA degree from Dundalk IT and is also a graduate of NUI Maynooth in Youth Arts. In 2012, he set up the creative and developmental youth arts organisation – The Music for Youth Project Limited (The MY Project). As its manager, he coordinates the delivery of various youth music initiatives for City & County Councils, Education Training Boards, Schools and Youth Work providers nationwide. In 2013, Evan was funded by The Arts Council to deliver an acclaimed Artist in Youth Work Residency through The National Youth Council of Ireland.
